Charles Edridge

Charles Edridge (1926 – 2007) when a stills photographer in the Second World War covered events ranging from Tito massing troops on the frontier at Pula, to the Middle East, including a year in Palestine. His first job after the war was working for the Maharajah of Kolapur at the Palace, photographing the State of Kolapur at the times of India’s independence. From India Edridge went to Canada and America where he spent five years. He returned to Europe working in Paris as a freelance photographer for major publications such as Paris Match, France Soir and various fashion magazines. Edridge was the last person to photograph Jean Cocteau, who sadly died a few days after the photographs were taken. In 1966. Charles Edridge returned to London and continued to work as a freelancer his work was published in national and international titles including The Times and The Sunday Times Magazine.
