Don McCullin

Don McCullin

Don McCullin signing his book, Southern Frontiers: A Journey Across The Roman Empire, a photographic book with supporting text by Barnaby Rogerson, at the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival at Christ Church. Donald McCullin is regarded as perhaps the greatest war photographer of his generation, having produced some of the most poignant images of war in the eighteen years that he worked for the Sunday Times when he covered every major conflict in that period. However in his talk he shows that he is haunted by what he has witnessed in these conflicts and expresses a feeling that he has failed in his work because ‘we are still at it’ creating wars. Don McCullin talks about his present work including his black & white landscapes in Somerset and his photography for his books. 27th March 2010 Oxford
