Battersea Power Station

A rally march past the famous Battersea Power Station, on a campaign to Free Shaker Aamer, the last British resident who is still held illegally in Guantanamo after more than 8 years. The campaigners march from Nine Elms past the site of the proposed future site of the London US Embassy, in Battersea, ironically in the very same borough of London where detainee Shaker Aamer is from and his family remain awaiting his return. The freedom march ends at Battersea Arts Centre for a panel talk and later film screening. Battersea, London, UK, 11th December 2010

PS: Shaker Aamer was released from Guantanamo on 30th of October 2015 and returned to Britain to be reunited with his family.
