Salim Akbar (1974 - 2010), a member of the Save Shaker Aamer Campaign (SSAC) Steering Committee, died on 17/12/2010 from a heart condition. Akbar was also a member of the management committee of Battersea Islamic Culture and Education Centre, a graduate from a London University and a respected campaigner for human rights and against injustice.
