Zzyzx is an onomatopoeia for nap or short sleep, i.e. sounding like someone sleeping, taking a zzyzx pronounced zisss or zizzz. Zzyzx and variations sometime used in comic strips to indicate someone sleeping with the letters drifting above the sleeping cartoon character's head.
