Armistice Day is a day of remembrance every year on the 11th November to mark the Armistice signed in Compiègne, France, between the Allies of the First World War, and Germany for the cessation of hostilities. It took effect on
11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Over sixteen million human beings died as a result of the First World War. The date was declared a national holiday in most of the Allied countries, but renamed Remembrance Day in the UK and changed to Veterans Day in USA.
