Chris James self-portrait

Chris James, self-portrait, filmmaker, cartoonist, author, advertising copywriter.

Chris James films include: Reel People (1976); 'About Face' (1978); After Beardsley (1981).

The Flatman Compendium, first published in 1976, is a book of environmental cartoon strips, the messages of which are as relevant today as they were 38 years ago. Until it's published on Amazon, it can be read FREE online.

The O.D., published in June 2014, is science fiction leading to a reality I fear to be inevitable. In the story, an alternative medicine for treating that most fatal of diseases, human nature, is floated.

Post Script:
In 1981 Chris James was screening his latest independent film "After Beardsley" at the Cambridge Animation Festival at the same time as I was my film "Still Life". We got to know each other quite well around this period because our films were screened at quite a number of festivals and events together. Also I had shot a small section of his film. I liked his approach to directing because he was open minded about trying things out, an auteur filmmaker and his work was subtle. RKW
