Napoléon Bonaparte

Napoléon Bonaparte (1769 – 1821). Napoleon dictated his memoirs, when a prisoner on the island Saint Helena, in his last years of his life. Picture is an mezzotint engraving by Samuel William Reynolds based on a picture by Horace Vernet, it is displayed at Musée national Napoléon de l'île d’Aix, in the building that was the last place Napoleon stayed on France soil before going into exile to Saint-Helena 1815.
