Chris Barham

Chris Barham (1933 - 2020) photographer at home, holding his portrait of Sir Winston Churchill taken in 1959. Chris Barham was a child during the Second World War when he listened to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on BBC Radio. He said to his mother “I would like to meet that man that’s winning the war”. His mother answered “if you become a photographer you may meet him”. He later did become a newspaper photographer. Not only did he meet him, he also took one of Winston Churchill favourite portraits. Chris Barham, stills photographer is known for his photography for the Daily Mail newspaper for 30 years, he also previously had worked for the Daily Herald (later The Sun), and other publications and agencies.
