Thumb Up and Thumbs Up: Can suggest ‘yes’, or, ‘yes indeed’ or a ‘positive response’, or 'congratulations' or, ‘approval’, or just ’acknowledged'. On FaceBook, the thumb up icon, can indicate, ‘read' or 'looked at’, or ‘approval that the piece was shared’. The meaning thumbs up, depends on the context but tends to be a positive response. (In a very small number of countries it can be taken as a rude gesture).
